So I am having a nitrate spike in my tank. I am making salt water that set overnight but it is only at 1.022 I'm adding salt now to bring it up to 1.024. Have a power head in air raider in salt mix tank. I am kinda nervous on how high the nitrate is in the fish tank and wondering if I should rush the water change pH is 8 and salinity will be at 1.024 for salt mix . I was planning on letting it sit for another hour and then doing the hard water change about 25%.should i do the water change tonight amd clean sand and everything or wait till tomorrow ?

No idea what is in the tank, but generally speaking would not panic for high nitrates. Take time and make sure water is properly mixed, heated, and salinity. High nitrates in general wont kill things overnight. Yours are high but no need at all to panic.

Also a notoriously unreliable test you're using, it could very well be wrong. API always reads high for me but salifert reads at a much lower range.
