Hi All,

I have a 30 gallon frag tank holding a bunch of my corals waiting for my new tank to be ready. Last night I noticed tons and tons of these small aiptasia looking things. I’ve had Pom Pom hydroids in the past and these do not look like those. They all are about a centimeter across at the largest. I’ve also had aiptasia and these fit the same color and look when aiptasia are babies but it’s not looking like that’s what these are because they’re not growing much bigger. They seem to move or walk as well. Any idea what these are?? I can put a few peppermint shrimp in here to see what happens. They don’t seem to be annoying any of my corals.
Would a copperband eat them?

Looks like aptasia. Peppermint shrimp eat them (before turning on corals). Berghia nudibranches also do it. Aptasia eating filefish will eat it as well. Copperband will but are very difficult to keep alive, so I wouldn’t get one just for aptasia eradication.
Better to use chemicals like aptasia x to kill them though. Predators are too risky and can attack coral.
