Hi all,

My tank has cycle completed end of week 4. This is week 6 and i see no diatoms yet. Is that an issue?

Parameters-
Ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nitrate-30
Salinity-1.026
Temp-80 F
PO4- not traceable
No live stock yet.

Cycled with ghost feeding/ ammonium chloride and dr. Tims bac. Dry rock, live sand.

The tank does not get daylight.
Light on for 2 weeks - blue 12hrs white-4hrs

Nope not a worry. The light should start fueling some film algae growth soon. If not, it will come with your first coral.

I wouldn't be worried about it either. Just stock the tank slowly to let the bacteria catch up to your bio load.

I did get that on week 6

That looks like a good enough diatom bloom to me. Love your aquascape by the way. What are you planning on stocking?
