I have 4 Maxspect XF350CE gyres in my tank. I control them with a Hydros WaveEngine, on "SPS Reef" mode. They are constantly whining. Some more than others. I replaced them about 6 months ago, because of the whining, and they were fine for a while. But over time, the whining has come back with the new ones. I clean them about every 3 months using citric acid.

Any suggestions?

I have icecap gyres, but try clicking the "invert rotation" button on the app. Thats my only idea, good luck with that

I don't have that option, but I'm sure that won't help anyway. Thanks though. Has anybody with Maxspec gyres figured out a way to quiet them?

It depends. If they're vibrating heavily I change out the silicone sleeves where the rotors slot into the axle. High pitched wine? Replace bushings. Rattling? check if the rotor ends fit snugly

Thanks. Yes, it's a high-pitched whine that goes up and down with the variable flow. How long should the bushings last? These are only about six months old.
