Noisy MAG7

I've just installed a mag7 as one of my return pumps and it's louder than I thought it should be. More of a rattling sound than anything else. Is this normal for this pump?

I have had several mag pumps. They had the normal pump sound but not rattle. Sounds like the impeller is not seated correctly.

I had a bit of a rattle on my Mag 7 on my frag tank. Quart sized ziplock freezer bag full of dry aragonite sand made it quiet up a ton.

No problem. I filled a ziploc quart sized freezer bag full of medium sized grain sand (dry). I placed it under the pump to act a cushion so to speak. Virtually all noise from the pump was eliminated.
