Hey guys!

Anyone recently order a light directly from Noopsyche? How long does it usually take for them to ship?

I have always been hesitant to order a Noopsyche light because I don't like to deal with these Chinese websites and the lack of any customer service. I was told here on R2R recently that Noopsyche has a US location, and orders ship quickly. I placed an order for three lights shortly after midnight on September 8th, and I've heard nothing yet about shipping. Is this unusual? Should I have just gone with the Smartfarm 90's from Amazon instead of dealing with Noopsyche?

Thanks for your help!

Did you order from noopsyche site or the us distributor site which is Aquarium specialties? Might be worth reaching out to them. If it falls through hit me up, I'll make you a smoking deal on some used K7 IIIs 😉
Uhg, no, I was unaware of Aquarium Specialties, this is where I ordered from:

I guess my lights will be coming on the slow boat from China.

Thank you for your offer, I guess let me see how this plays out, but I appreciate the thought!

2-4 WEEKS TO YOUR DOOR

$60 each more I would have ordered from there also. I was going to list my 6 k7 III but when I saw the IV were only $139 I figured peeps would offer $50 or something and I'll let them collect dust and be back ups for that price. The III pros do have 140 watts vs 100 watts on the IV

Interesting that the wattage is lower on the newer light, I wonder why they did that 🤔 I'm pretty sure 100 watts will be fine for what I want them for, but I know you have larger tanks and probably need the extra punch.

I read that they changed the spectrum also but not sure what changed if they did change it.

You liked your K7 III's I assume? Everyone seems to like these lights, and my objection has always been ordering from a Chinese website. I do have a K7 mini that I bought brand new unused from another reefer; it's still brand new unused today 🤣

I had no problem with the K7 III pros. I even have a brand new one that I bought for back up. The only reason I took mine down was because i ended up with two photon 32" V2 pros after my tank move so I put those up to replace the six noops.

Once just for giggles I glued a little acro frag on the back wall of my 180 running the noops and it did surprisingly well.

I guess they sure can grow corals!

With six over the 6ft 180 I was able to get 300 par on the bottom where I kept a couple of clams. The lights may have become more popular if they had a US distributor earlier and a better app or Wi-Fi that worked instead if having to use AP mode. Minor things to me but for people researching lights they're negatives. Ive not had one fail yet and i bought my first one mid year 2022.

That's impressive PAR on such a large tank. I have heard some negatives about the app and setup issues, but my thought is once I get them setup it's then set and forget. I don't expect to need to adjust things much beyond the initial setup. I hope 😬

Not sure if you've seen this? I tried it out briefly before taking the lights down and it seemed to work pretty well.
No, I had not seen that link before, but that looks ideal. If the app is finicky, I can connect with it from my PC. Thanks for posting the link!
