Anybody running the noopysche pro iv notice it hurts the eyes?
My eyes definitely feel "tired" after looking at the tank and both my wife and son say it bothers their eyes.

I would guess it's the glare from the fixture. Can you post a pic of the tank that also shows the light fixture?

Do you have with a diffuser? This way the light is completely enclosed with no glare at all.

Maybe looking at the tank instead of the light is the problem. LED lights are not meant to be looked at directly for any length of time.

How high is the light because it maybe overlapping the tank duento height position? I have mine 9" from the water surface and it has perfect spread.

Light is about 12" above the tank.
Not looking into to the light, actually looking at the critters.

You have a different shade to me and I also have the diffuser which I can't see on yours.

I don't have that problem.

This is the best pic I have on my phone

Yes, the shade is a 3d printed one. I do not have the diffuser. Do you get it off the noopysche website ?

Do any other led type lights bother you? Asking as some people are very sensitive to the (what I used to call subliminal) flickering. Most don’t notice, but for those that do they can be bothersome and even cause headaches. I myself am not affected by the flickering and never noticed it.

Another thing that can be bothersome with some reef leds (especially if coming from flat lighting like t5) is the disco ball effect triggered by ripples. That and light spill into the room. Both of which are quite bothersome to me.

Lowering the mounting height can reduce light spill…but will reduce spread.

One thing that really bothered me with led pucks was the reflected light ripples that bounced all over as I have a rimless tank. I ended up getting a 1.5 (maybe 2) inch, roll of matte black vinyl wrap. I stuck that around the outer, upper tank edge so that it covers the dry space from just below the waterline to the edge. This eliminated all the, in my face, reflected light ripples.

Don’t know that any of this would apply to your situation but figured I’d throw it out there.
