When I put nori sheets in my tank for my tangs it kills the foam in my skimmer. Skimmer doesn't return to normal until the nori sheets are gone. Does this happen to anyone else?

That sounds odd. Do you run filter socks or any other form of mechanical filtration?

It doesn't happen with me. What kind of nori are you using? Maybe it has some kind of oil in it? Is it "food nori" or "fish nori"?

This is what I am currently feeding. I do believe it did it with all nori I have used but I don't remember for sure. I can switch to confirm though.

I wonder if dried seaweed (like that from two little fishes) wouldn't cause this issue. Out of curiosity, what skimmer is it?

Just fed my tank some two little fishes and took some photos before and after of the skimmer and there was no change.

So I have discovered that it is the Selcon that I soak the nori in that is killing the foam in my skimmer and not the nori itself.
