Hey everyone, just got my clowns on Sunday, they are very small, both the size of my pinky finger give or take.

I'm feeding them twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before I go to bed.

Fed them this morning and they had zero interest in the food (feeding flakes)

Could they still be full from last night's feeding?

Or should I just stick to a set time each day, twice a day?

Thanks

Have you witnessed them feeding?
Also, you could try some small pellets and see if they take those more readily.

If these are the first fish added to your tank, then I would test the water if they are not eating. The clowns should eat every time food is offered, not eating could be indicative of a problem. Are they both refusing food?

EDIT: have you tried other foods? Many of my fish won't eat flakes

Also depends how much food you gave them. Since they are tiny, they might still be full. I would give a pinch a day then when they see you and associate your presence with food, they'll let you know when they are hungry.

Also variety. I fed freeze dried mysis, flakes or pellets as well as frozen (thawed first in a cup of tank water).

Check the water parameters and keep a close eye for disease. Clamped fins, fast breathing, scratching, white spots, blotchy skin, white mucus, etc. There are lots of good threads on disease and treatment. Since you just got them from the LFS there is a chance they have something.

Small clowns who were eating should be hungry enough to eat 5-6 times per day unless something is wrong.
