Not your typical Copperband question

I’ve had my Copperband awhile and he/she is putting on the ounces.

Anyway, how much do you Copperband owners feed them and what using which method?

I’d like to reduce my food input to tank for the month but concerned about impacts.

Why do you want to reduce you food input for a month?
I feed mine PE mysis and a frozen homemade seafood mash twice a day. I also feed mastick at least once between the main feedings. I feed all tanks about the the same except the mastick is only for the CBB. I don't like to be hungry so I figure my fish don't either.

EDIT: I don't measure the food but I broadcast feed and it looks like it snowing in the tank so it's quite a a bit of food

I just went through a tank move with a new sand bed.

I would like to give the tanks biome a little bit of room to get reestablished before the more opportunistic micro organisms take hold.

Probably purely in my head but has worked for me in the past. So I want to do just one feeding per day instead of three.

So I am curious how much everyone feeds their tank and Copperband by proxy, so I can gauge a better approach.

Mine is use to picking mysis from those black mesh feeders, so he/she is a very fat copper band. Usually manages to eat a cube of pe mysis from the mesh over the day.

My CBB isn't even on my feeding radar. My tank is 15yrs old and the CBB gets its own food by picking at the copepods.

I don't even pay attention if it's eating what I use for food

i have been keeping mine in a large acclimation box for an extended period of time now, going on just over a week. Mine still loves the little neck clams from the grocery store and I don’t want to release it into the display until I know he’s eating properly and knows where to get food. I recently ordered one of these curious looking CBB feeders I found from another thread in the link below.

I still have not received it yet but should be here in the next few days and the seller was good about communicating with me in PM. I figure once it’s eating out of that I can release it without much worries.

I have that same feeder. It works but now I only use it for the mastick I feed.

I generally feed 1-2x a day and all my fish remain fairly happy.
The way I think I get away with this is my natural food sources are very varied and are at a constant supply.

I have 7 fish. 2 dwarf angels, CBB, yellow longnose, royal gramma, pair of maroon clowns. I feed once a day mostly and sometimes twice. I feed 1-2 cubes of mysis per day or equivalent of chopped seafood. My maroon female is huge and my cbb is the largest in the tank maybe 3.5-4" Had the cbb about 4.5 years and its healthy.
