Nuvo 8 Gallon Nano Reef

Hello! Been keeping freshwater tanks for a very long time. Just now making the jump into saltwater. I've been researching reef keeping for a couple of years, and got a great deal on an innovative marine nuvo 8. So, here we go!

Here's the scape I think I've decided on.

I've upgraded the stock return pump to a cobalt aquatics mj900. Also swapped the stock media basket for an intank basket. Picked up an eheim jager 50w for the heater chamber.

Next order of business will be upgrading the skyylight to a kessil a160we. Going to run the stock for a while just to see what it can do.

Livestock will consist of a watchman goby/candy cane pistol pair and probably a mocha clown. Planning on a few sexy shrimp and other inverts.

I'll probably keep the sponge and of course run purigen and chemipure elite in the bottom chambers. No skimmer either, just weekly or bi - weekly water changes in the beginning.

Just ordered 30 lbs of Tropic Eden Reef Flakes. I'm excited to give it a shot. Wish it came in smaller bags though.

Ran into a snag. I dropped in the mj900. It's noisy! Also, it's spitting micro bubbles into the display. I can't seem to find the source. Water level sits 2 inches above the pump in the return section. There's also a whirlpool that sits above the the return nozzle. Is the mj900 too much for the tank?
