Are Moorish idols from Nyaquatics any good?

If you're not an experienced reefer, I would pass. I was not experienced, bought one, did not QT. Wiped out my whole tank with velvet, but one Christmas wrasse. Diswayed me from this hobby. Now I am trying to sell everything .

Well you should QT all fish regardless of species. Inverts and corals too.
The problem with keeping moorish idols is that they are very finicky eaters. They will refuse to eat and that gives the reefer a very limit time to figure out how to deal with that problem.

Even when they do eat, doesn’t mean a whole lot.

I had one for 6 months, at anything I threw in there, including algae sheets.

Then one morning he was under a rock upside down, moments later dead.
WIll never have one again

I bought two from him recently and they are both doing well eating pellets also!
