Howdy,

Does anyone have a video / guide on properly tuning the quantum nyos skimmers; specifically the 160.. I have searched the internet high and low in search of the ultimate guide to tuning it. I have tried loads of things, but no matter what I do the skimmer always winds up going haywire. Part of me thinks that something in the skimmer itself is broken as the large adjustment cylinder no longer appears to do anything...

Maybe the water depth is too much or too little? What does everyone have good experiences with? I currently have it in the depth shown on the manual, but again maybe someone has had better luck.

I always just used the recommended depth in the manual. The large adjustment cylinder can be tricky.....it is easy to adjust if you look at it out of the water. It has to be spun all the way around until the opening faces the body of the skimmer (which lowers the volume in the skimmer body). From there, you can slowly adjust it to raise the water level.

I have let it run for a year, it worked great for 6 months and now I can't tune it again...

I think I need to take it out of water and set the cylinder tube to the right direction and restart

Also take the flexible tubing out and make sure the plastic venturi piece that it connects to is clear of salt. I used to take a knife and clean that out every few weeks. It would mess up the performance. I didn't realize you had run your skimmer for that long otherwise I would have recommended that in my first response.

I've fully disassembled and cleaned but I'm unsure the spot you're talking about can you shoot a photo ?

This part......make sure the gray piece is free of salt buildup inside where the airline connects.

Decided to give it a citric acid bath prior to tuning / setting up again.
