I can't speak for the NYOS but I can for the Vertex. I run the Vertex 180i on my Red Sea Reefer 450. The build quality is top notch and skims like a beast even when I didn't have much in the tank, it still managed to pull gunk. The best feature for me was the screw off top. No more dumping gunk in the sump. My least favorite about the skimmer was getting it dialed in. It does take a little bit of adjusting during the break in period (which for me was about 2 weeks maybe a little less) but since then its a beast and quiet. Good Luck with your decision!
