My first reef tank of 135 gallons, together with the sump will be about 165 gallons of water. I am now trying to choose a skimmer for me. I really like the Nyos and I choose between 220 and 160 models. Some say that more is better, others say that if the load is small, it is better to choose a smaller one. I hope not to make fish soup at once) But my trips are regular and have a stock of cleanliness I would definitely like. Should I still choose Nyos 160 or 220?

The NYOS 160 would be fine even for heavy stocking, Ive got one in my S650 which has a heavy bio load

Ive also got a 300 version in my ‘big house’

And welcome to R2R as well!

Thx! 220 will be too big for me?
If it fits in your sump it’s on the entry end of your tank volume as far as it’s specifications are concerned, so no it should be fine, but you can also easily get the 160. It’s up to you really and I can see why your thinking about getting the larger version

It depends really on your stocking plans, unless your going to have a massive bioload there will be little to skim out.
