Yea that certainly doesn't look very healthy. The attachment between the black box and regulator looks bent as well.
Innards are mostly solid state with a clippard mouse solenoid. Will depend on how corroded the circuit board is.
The regulator part is an easy replacement and relatively cheap (compared to the initial purchase price).

I don't believe the attachment is any propitiatory thread though there looks to be a quick connect there. Regulator should be 1/4 npt though (no guarantee).
Just remove the outlet valve and replace with the quick connect.
Anyways first things first.. check the innards of the black box. "Some people say" it's hard to get apart.
