Do NOT use pvc cement on acrylic. scigrip 3 or 4 is appropriate, but consumers can no longer purchase it.

Recently went through the same dilemma here in Montreal. Went to a commercial acrylic shop who refilled my 10 oz can of Weldon 4 for $10 Cdn.
Don't use anything else but the Weldon 3 or 4 type solvent. Make sure you keep the can tightly closed!

Which shop did you go to? :)

Look through the Yellow Pages, any shop that makes stuff like acrylic signs for shops and stuff like that.
