So just as it say I'm headed to the OBX in may. Just was wondering if there are any good stores in the area or with in an hours drive from nags head.

The wife and I go to Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Cape Hatteras just about every year and you would think this would be prime saltwater reef store real estate, but sadly no. None that I know of.

Fish Fish Fish is an excellent LFS located in Plymouth, NC which is a little over an hour drive inland from Nags Head. Unfortunately there aren't many options in the Kitty Hawk/Nags Head area - I believe there are more options more north in Virginia.

Fish, Fish, Fish in Plymouth is going to be the closest one to Nags Head. (And it can be hit or miss as far as livestock, etc.) Other than that heading into Virginia or out towards Raleigh would be your best bet. There is a small store in Greenville called Ward's Aquatics and Maintenance too. Welcome to eastern North Carolina!

It's a good thing there's a beach and water then. I guess that's what I'm going there for

Well, there are definitely decent beaches there. It'll be a ghost town in the off season, which is kind of nice. Definitely busy there during the summer. If you have any questions about this part of the state let me know! I see you're from or living in NY according to your profile. I grew up in the Hudson Valley and moved down here after high school be prepared for a different way of life down here! haha

This is where I am lucky enough to call home. Sadly there is no more LFS. Check out the aquarium in Manteo if you have time. No live coral, but lots of neat displays.

I'm no stranger to the south. When I was I school we use to travel all over when I was on summer vacations. The caronlinas Arkansas all states in btwn. I'm actually from Montana but have been living in ny for the past 20 years or so. It's really different there compared to here.
