I ordered this Acan from TRSC Aquatics. It came a couple of weeks ago. When it arrived it was very cold. Like ice water cold. I acclimated it and it opened up in a couple of days. Ever since it has been stuck in feeding mode. It stays like this day and night....

My other Acans only do this at night. Anyone else seen this before?

I actually picked up an Acan 3 weeks ago which is doing exactly the same. I fed this with a number of different foods 2 to 3 times a week
And still it's the same. I concluded that it's just the way this one likes to present itself lol.

I continue to feed but I wouldn't worry about it. There are suspicions that it has something to do with lighting or nutrient levels but as yet there seems to be no conclusive evidence of this.

I wouldn't change what your doing just let him be happy

I have some extend during the day like that. I wish all did as well as my scoly. When I feed the other ones and my scoly I have to wait till 12-1 am because they only put out there grabbers way after lights out. The acans that are out during the day get to eat all day and when I feed my fish, very convenient. I wish they would get on the same page especially the scoly because I like seeing it open way up.

Test as many parameters as possible and try to maintain balance where you are, very happy Micro you have there.

My params are in good shape. Just tested last week. I automatically dose everything. Pretty dialed in after 2 years. Might need a little more with new coral.

What is Micro?

Than man. It was so cheap at $24 I couldn't say no. You might consider raising your salinity a little.. 24 can be a little low for some corals depending on what you plan to keep. Also you'll probably hear that your P04 is to high. My P04 is usually around 0.06 to 0.2 and I find my corals actually look better on that higher end. So I wouldnt worry about your current figures.. Again I guess it depends on what you plan to keep.
