Oddball/rare fish?

Looking for an oddball for a 55 gallon or less. I’ve had a Juvenile Choats Leopard wrasse that outgrew the tank in the past. I had also been looking into a Golden Aurantia angel but don’t know how big or a risk it will be with coral, I’ve also looked at Jeweled leopards and have seen a golden nuggets wrasse on NY aquatics. Any suggestions?

It's not on the expensive side of rare but my oddball/uncommon fish is a Lantern basslet I found at petco. Only ever seen one once at any of the lfs I've been to yet the one petco has them regularly. Kind of has big googly eyes that look a little goofy. Probably my favorite fish in the tank. Nive patterning and color, active and peaceful.

Not exactly rare or expensive a little more on the uncommon side but a oddball that I love is gumdrop coral crouchers love seeing them in my birds nest

Sounds pretty cool, they’re pretty peaceful? How many do you keep and in what size tank, do they pair up or group up?

They are pretty peaceful as far as other species but will attack others of their kind unless their a pair I keep them in my 75 gallon but my lfs has one their 10 gallon display so they can be in smaller tanks I only have one at the moment if you want multiple just make sure they have enough space so they won’t clash they do need to be spot fed I feed mysis and brine shrimp to mine and they are scorpion fish so they do have stingers but the chances are low since they can be cryptic at times but with a branching coral you’ll see them in there all the time

Look into Terelabrus wrasses - they're really great, very curious peaceful fish (big jumpers though, need a secure lid). Mine is out all the time.

I also like curious wormfish and urchin clingfish, but they're somewhat difficult to find in the first place, and get eating.

The worm fish and clingfish have peaked my interested fs on my radar now if I can find one!

My lfs at one time had an albino tomini tang, if I hadn't already had one I would have gotten it. Don't know if you consider this rare, but I do. Someone bought it though. :(

My captive bred golden angel doesnt touch my hammers and sps (yet.) but i've heard from local reefers they demolished their euphyllias. Especially the wild caught individuals.

I would for sure consider the albino rare, tang police might get me with my size tank lol

Love trying them out even if they will outgrow my tank if I can get them small until they grow out I just rehome them. Adds something to chase besides corals!

They might but I have a tomini tang in a 33 gallon and it is really happy. I think a 55 gallon would be good for a tomini.

I'm in the market for some skillet or cling fish. A lot of the fairy wrasse are cool. jaw fish, mandarins, engineer goby, small deep water puffers, mini lionfish , barnacle blenny, there's a very cool tailspot looking blenny with all kinds of cool colors I saw at an lfs once. Inverts, there's a million. My lfs has crinoids which are wild

They might but I have a tomini tang in a 33 gallon and it is really happy. I think a 55 gallon would be good for a tomini.

I could always move him if he’s not happy too, never seen an albino one sadly

It was pretty cool and I would have immediately bought him if I had the room. He was the size of about half his lifetime, so wouldn’t have lived as long as a juvenile would.
