Office Distraction take 2

New torch seems happy in it’s spot. Ignore the hammer, he has been pouty for a month.

Bit of a photo dump after a rescape from rose coral nipping blenny had to be caught.....

Still debating if this is a Goni or a Bernardpora

Rose coral that wanted to protect enough I tore apart my rock work little bit of damage on bottom right from the nip but it’s still eating and puffy.

Well, BJD decided to rear its ugly head. Lost 3 Torches and part of a frogspawn. Treated tank with Cipro, seems to have stopped everything, remaing Euphyllia is now back open. Time for a waiting game before reloading on my torch garden. Will likely be doing a Joker Corals infection elimination dip on any more torches I grab from now on. Sucks to watch several hundred dollars melt away. I do dip my corals, but hadn't been going for bacterial before.

Ordered my SR80 so been looking at build threads, i'm excited to get mine though it says ships in December so fingers crossed. Any chance you have a picture of your back chamber? I want to see how you set it up and did you ever end up getting a skimmer? I'm eyeing the Tunze 9004 DC, very pricey trying to decide if it's worth it or necessary.

Hey sorry for the late reply, I was out of town....and then I sort of nuked the tank trying to get rid of a flatworm infestation. In the back chamber I usually have an IM Nuvo Roller on one side and the media basket on the other, with filter floss, Bio blocks and sometimes carbon. I do have the 9004 Tunze as well but I only run it as needed.

Sorry to hear about the flatworm issue. Hopefully not too much mayhem.

Would you say the 9004 is worth the price tag? A lot of these smaller skimmers I see usually pull very wet skim (tea like) and can't do much better than that. I'm hoping they go on sale for Black Friday but so far no news.

it does produce fairly wet skim, but definitely has helped in the past. I would say don't worry about it until your results say you need it. I found the filter roller to be a better investment but it was still pricey.
