Nice thread!

I got my SCA 120g a handful of years ago, think when they first started making them.
I actually drove there from san diego, they gave me a killer deal as they were moving stock to a new warehouse, drove all the way home w/ a giant grin!
Those guys have been awesome to deal with, great customer service, think they are the best deal going for low iron glass tanks, and have a lot more options now.

This is my octo cab(I'm a finish carpenter/contractor, so I always make my own stands and cabinets) and SCA 120g, just moved and newly setup about 3.5months ago, off to a pretty good start so far, but a ways to go.

@roberthu526 looking good sir! yup sounds about right 300# for a 15mm tank. you glad you went rimless?
how are you liking the Synengry overflow?

Sorry just saw your post. The notification didn’t work for some reason.
Yes I am pretty happy with the rimless. It is a beautifully tank and I just wanted to make everything as perfect as possible. So I waited for almost two month for synergy reef to build the 21” overflow box but after installing it I feel it was totally worth it. Very low profile and not noticeable. I have had many friends asking me “how do you get water into the tank underneath(sump)?” I had to point the overflow box out and they would be like “oh....”
I did buy a bunch of the lips for rimless tanks to sit my covers on. I built a screen mesh top for half of the tank and used glass cover on the other half. The room the tank is in is not that big so I wanted to control the humidity by reducing evaporation. So far so good. With two COR15’s and a 36w UV the tank is able to stay below 81 when the room temp is 76-77. As you can see though I used four Radions and four MP40’s so minimal heat from the lights and no heat from the powerhead. Also my skimmer is a Regal 300 Ext so no heat from that neither.

@roberthu526 that is a good idea about half screen top and half glass. can you post of some pics of how it looks?

I was thinking about a new acrylic screen top for my reboot but I think i'll just redo the DIY mess and spend the $$ on stuff inside the tank. :D

I'm also planning to upgrade to either a 120 or 150 SCA! So many decisions! 120 or 150, rimless or eurobraced, center overflow or ghost, purchase stand or build my own, and now I see that they also sell a peninsula version!!! Arrgggg!!!

Here you go. I used glass top on the right side because that’s where the power center is. I want to avoid any damage from spill or fish splash. The mess on the screen is a little wrinkled but I had to make it myself so that was the best I could do.

All finished up; hopefully it will be wet in the next month (almost a year old already and never seen water).

You are a brave man! I would not be able to sleep without center support under the stand!

@madweazl man that looks good I love how you matched it with the wall!

@roberthu526 cool that for sharing with us how often do you have to clean the glass? oh and I dont have a center brace on my 3' 90...

@fishybizzness I know right I went back in forth for weeks. in the end I when with a 90 and its a little big tank as I call it. the most volume in the smallest footprint. that said If I owned my house I would go with a 150 or bigger peninsula drilled for external overflows.
I dream of a peninsula tanks...

I have the 120g PNP system. I find the water level a little low, especially with the canopy. There's about a 1.5" gap from water line to the bottom of the canopy. I'm planning to cut a strip of acrylic to block the weir to raise the water level. Has anyone done this? With the return turned off the water is alittle above half in the sump so plenty left for additional 1.5" of water volume.

I don’t have a center brace neither. I just bought some lips for rimless tanks.
I have had the tank for about three month and haven’t had to clean the glass once yet.

Got a big update on this tank. Got the tank running last weekend and moved everything over from the old 45 gallon to the new tank. You can check out the entire build on my build thread. Here is the masterpiece in my dining room now (I’m sure my wife it happy now that I don’t have two tanks in the room anymore.)

Looking good!
Why do you have the powerheads pointing upward?

Most stands are rediculously over built. This one isn't much of an exception, built with 5/4 rough cut maple. No bravery necessary

It’s the TUNZE Stream 3 which can be positioned vertically (using the flow diverter that bends the flow sideways) or horizontally (using same or two other attachments that pushes the water straight)

For those that have the 50 gallon with wood stand, what are the interior dimensions? Specifically looking if a Trigger 20C sump (20x20x15) would fit in there.

Thanks
