How do wilsoni compare to acanthos in terms of hardiness?

Feel free to share your experience in general comparing the two

Wilsoni are extremely sensitive in my opinion, they are often bleached when you buy them and I haven’t seen any that do well long term under LED lights I’m not sure why. LED lights overexcite the pigments in Wilsoni and often when you place them under a different lighting condition you realize the coral is actually bleached out. Acanthos are much easier to care for.

These were under LED lights from the supplier, they are clearly bleached but under my T5 you can see the pigment starting to come back, the specks you see is the coral beginning to regain its original color. It takes a while.

Somehow we've gone all this time without a wilsoni-specific show off thread! An extremely unique and hard-to-find coral that deserves some attention, and if you have one you should DEFINITELY show it off! So here's the official wilsoni specific show off thread!

I'll go first

Sorry about the algae. It is a bit puffy as I just fed it, though exact same lighting, look at those colors :star-struck:

The feeders were out earlier- thanks to a scheduled power outage mid-day. I am definitely going to start target feeding next time I spot them.

The orange is glitter effect/style vs solid coloring

I believe I infiltrated your thread. It seems there’s been a lot of re-naming over the last few years and

Wilsoni-symphyllia was added to lobophyllia and then moved to australiophylia?

I don’t think my post qualifies. Sorry!

my sandbed ranges 100 - 125

Being closer to center tank, I believe this is around 125

I will redeem myself by sharing a rainbow wilsoni I just saw for sale from a shop I’ve bought from before

But they want 450 for it

$450?!?! Oh naw , your better off catching them on sale or finding someone that imports them , for such a sensitive coral I wouldn’t pay that much, I’m building my collection back and I haven’t paid nearly as much for a single one. It’s nice though
