@Battlecorals I have an idea and I’d love your input/advice.

My reef is busting at the seams with acros, and I’m tired of often just throwing frags in the trash when I trim.

I’d love to do a grow out contest in true OG fashion, like when I started in reefing. Other reefers just gave you frags and we’re happy to talk about reefing without making it a side hustle.

So 8-10 people get FREE (just pay shipping) frags of OG acros like Oregon Tort right?

Catch is, I’ve NEVER shipped coral. I can certainly buy supplies but that doesn’t teach me best practices to get them to members alive and healthy.

Any advice is welcome and appreciated!

We used to have a reef club and I brought devils hands and hairy mushrooms to every meeting. Back then I couldn't keep montis alive. But the club went away and that was kind of the end of that. Now I just take all my extras stuff to the local LFS.

Oh for sure! We have a local reef club and I do sell/give away frags at the annual swap but my local shop already has all the same acros as me haha

Ok so I get styro shipping kits from Uline and bags, 30 hour heat packs from TSK supply?

Anyone have any other tips?

Just going off what I’ve seen from Adam and other sellers: place heat pack at bottom and then pad with some paper between heat pack and frags.

I don't have any experience shipping corals, but I'd be in for this.
