Hey everyone! I was viewing a thread and I heard something very familiar... Christmas Wrasse!
When I lived in Florida, the nearest pet shop was 40 minutes away. We went there after special ordering a Christmas Wrasse... it was the only female. We noticed it had a big belly (Stay with it) They bought 3, and two were male. I remember it was so hard to fish out... When we took it home, it lasted a while. That first night, I remember watching her dive in the sand. It was awesome! I remember watching the sand get really high and seeing her eye move. Less than a month later there were EGGS! That was the belly! (Unfortunately, none of them made it.) Anyway, I remember her now. One of my favorites. When I moved, we didn't want to get rid of the fish so the owners of the store came and took the fish...
I wonder where she is.
Anyway, do any of y'all remember any fish you had from the start?

i cant think

Honestly, some of my favourite species I had at the start I still have in my collection.
I have always loved this species, I’ve never kept one personally until now but I have had it in LFS displays and never fallen out of love. Same with the Diamond Tail Flasher Wrasse.

Which christmas wrasse are you referring to? I assume it isn't thalassoma because you talk about it diving in the sand. Maybe halichoeres claudia but probably halichoeres ornatissimus as they are also called christmas wrasses and are now a banned hawaiian export. Hopefully we see them again in the future along with other hawaiian fish like potters wrasses.

Hey! The one that looks the most like mine is the second one. I got it several years ago.

Which one is the banned hawaiian export? Ornatissimus is readily available, doesn't get huge, and keeps it's pretty patterns.
