I'm sure many people here have had this same experience, and I just felt like I wanted to talk to some fish people. (I am the only one with 55 mile radius, to my knowledge, of where I live.)
At this moment, I have two tanks. An 80 gallon Red Sea tank, and a 40 gallon, Innovative Marine cube.
They are both mixed tanks. Corals and fish. The 40 gallon was very specific for seahorses as far as flow and cohabitants are concerned…
I absolutely adored my seahorses. And I had them for a while.
But now they both have died, different story – it happens… And now I basically have two tanks with similar fish/corals.
I think I have come to a decision after a long quiet talk with myself, and I think I'm going to combine them and take down the 40 gallon.
I would really like to have one beautiful stunning show tank instead of two OK depressing tanks. After the seahorses died, I kind of lost interest in keeping anything nice and clean, which did not help anything at all as you know… But I'm pulling myself out of my slump and I'm going to consolidate my universe and start over.
In the middle of all of this, I had a huge huge outbreak of the spiky worm tube things that the bumblebee snails eat. Right now I can't think of what they're called but they're everywhere and they're annoying and they're damaging.
But I'm just not ready to throw in the towel altogether. I absolutely love my tanks, they bring me so much joy.
So I'm not quitting, I'm just consolidating… And I love this place as a support group and advice forum. And that's all I really have to say. I just wanted to make it official. Maybe I will even start a tank feed thread with pictures. I've never done that before…
Who knows!
