Old BRS pre-proportioned Mag solution

Hello,

The other day I had a fellow reefer give me a pre-proportioned BRS magnesium pouch. They said is was a couple of years old but thought it was still good. I have never used one of these pre-proportioned magnesium pouches before, so to my surprise, when I open the pouch to mix it, it was in a slurry. Meaning that it looked as if some water was mixed with the magnesium components. I guess I was expecting it to be in powder form.

My questions regarding this are is it supposed to be like this in the pouch and is it okay to use?

I mixed it according to the direction and it mixed up well and cleared.

Lol. I have about 5 old pouches and yes, they are "slurry" from the start. I wrote to BRS awhile back about shelf life and they said it was pretty far out there. I would think they are ok but always monitor after dosing. Let me know the outcome. I'll mix mine up!

I figured it would be ok given how it mixed. I was just surprised that it was a slurry.
