Few changes I forgot to document.

Nyos was on sale 25% off so I bought a years worth and will run that again. With Red Sea going up twice in the last year it was an easy choice.

I’ve been dosing some Ammonium Bicarbonate to keep nitrates above 0. I am now seeing bubble algae explode again that had almost disappeared. Looking back at my notes, I was dosing ammonia is 2023 when I had the last explosion.

So….im gonna take the “feed more” approach and see if it yields a different result. Ordered some Reef Chili to feed occasionally and gonna put Acropower on a doser and dose the minimum dose weekly.

Things look great! For food considerations, I really like the EasySPS and EasyBooster combo, or EasyFarms (premixed combo product) but it’s unfortunately also $$$

I feel like I looked those up before and couldn’t find a reliable source. Where are you getting them? And how much are you dosing?

I buy 8-12 months worth from Coralvue or Biota whenever they come in stock 😆.

I dose approximately 14ml (total) per 100-150 gallons per day.

I'm right there with you with the ammonia and bubble algae. Corals look great though Ben!

Welp nutrients were low long enough that I got dinos. They are Coolia and really slow advancing so just kinda taking the shotgun approach to kicking them and hopefully won’t have to add a UV.

-Stopped any coral food and cut water changes in half to 1 gal/day.

-added copepods and started dosing phyto at 1oz/day.

-started minimum maintenance dose of Microbacter.

I will say since all this started I’m seeing streamer polyps on acros I’ve never seen in my tank. A sign of very healthy corals IMO.

Dinos still hanging but not going crazy. I tried a big UV for a month and it did jack so I pulled it off.

Finally got an orange and yellow filter for better pics.

Long time no see excuse the reds/pinks being washed out. It’s either too blue with no filter or a couple corals look washed out with orange filter. No changes to the reef other than regular trimming.

Amazing tank. Just placed an order from midwest custom for a 60x30x20 peninsula and debating lighting. Still have my old 8 bulb 60" tek t5ho fixture from 2010ish that grew coral like crazy and thinking of using it, what bulb combo are you running? Also have two quanta meso blues and a tropic sun and was just thinking of ordering three 60" reef crest daylights for the middle since 60" t5 bulbs can be hard to get sometimes.

I run 2 Photon 50's and 3 or4 uv/v bars on my 60×30×21. Im happy with the results today at a little over 2 years.
From both ends yesterday.
You will love the 30" depth!
