Hey everybody,
I’m about to start cycling my new 40g breeder. I have only kept freshwater for the last several years now, but I have an older Aquafx 100 gpd barracuda that I have kept and I tested it out and it’s still making right at 0-2 ppm water. Would I be alright just to wipe it out really good and change my filters and membrane to make water with for an aquarium?

I bet it would be fine.

Absolutely, give it a good clean and make sure to properly flush the prefilter and carbon before adding the RO membrane. Then make sure to flush the membrane before adding the DI resin.

Sure, if you change the filters and membrane then it's essentially a brand new unit. The rest of it is just plastic cannisters that if not physically broke should last forever.
