So after a little bit of a break, I’m decided to give it another go after I scored a great deal on a brand new Red Sea Reefer 425 G2 YES A RED SEA TANK.Don’t need comments about the tank I no all about it.But if m hoping with a much more solid stand I can stop some if those issues. It will be a rather slow build as I gather all the bits and pieces.Figured I would get the build thread going here are some pictures of the stand.

Excellent looking stand!

Looks like you built the stand with the ability to upgrade in size down the road which is brilliant even if it wasn't intentional 😅 Your future self will thank you it's inevitable we always want bigger.

So I originally made it for a 5foot tank. But then came across this tank for a great deal so here we are

Ah that makes sense... by the way looking at the photos it looks like you have the stand and tank right up against the wall unless it's just the way the photo came out? May make life much easier having it a few inches off the wall to have some room back there for your arm.

Looks really nice! Just make sure to slide a mat or pad under it. Even the hardest kiln-dried woods are gonna move seasonally. I had weather tech laser one for my old 80 but you can get something like a high quality yoga mat and cut it yourself.

1/2” yoga mat under tank

I can't help but wonder if it would be worth adding a euro brace before filling? RS has added one to the G3 425.

PS if nothing else they help from water from being splashed over the side when working in the tank cleaning glass etc.

Yes it’s definitely something I’ve thought about. And it’s a high possibility of happening
