That is a nice maxima! Keep in mind though, that pic is from top down so you can see the pattern and the reflective iridiphores very well. Viewing from a different angle will make the clam look different. Still nice though.

I'm not in the market for a clam, but why not buy from LA? I've never purchased anything from them but just curious.

They haven't shipped out healthy clams in some time. They have also shipped clams with torn byssal organs and since it's not dead within the warranty time frame they won't cover the loss even though the clam is certain to perish.

I won't either. We've bought four and all died within 1.5 to 2.5 weeks. I believe,...most are too small to handle shipping and new water specs. I love those I've looked at from PE.
