Online Coral Vendor

Hi!
I'm planning to purchase a coral online for the first time. Been busy with work so I'll settle with online. My whole tank is quarentined, my fish is copper treated by myself and purchase from Dr. Reef. I want to know where is a good place to buy a budget friendly QT'ed fishless system coral vendor. Since I've got experience with Dr. Reef I might just buy it from them, but I want to know other places as well. Thanks!

I don’t believe any of the major coral sellers have their corals in QT’d fishless systems. Even Dr. Reef, I assume they have fish in their coral systems but those fish have been QT’d since that is what they specialize in.

I personally would just dip the coral and put it in your tank. There are a lot of good options for coral vendors if you do that

I respectfully disagree. Dips don't remove encysted fish parasites. If you're going to go through the trouble and cost of quarantining fish (and buying pre-quarantined), you should run your corals and inverts through a 76 day fallow period. I know others use 45 days. But the risk of introducing parasites on inverts (including corals) is too high not to isolate them first IMO.

Lots of vendors QT their fish but not their inverts. IMO if you want full QT its going to be something you're going to have to do at home

Fair enough! I personally never QT'd my coral (got mine from TSA), and never had any diseases be introduced.

I also never had the space to do propper qt'ing which is also why I never did it

I dip and drop but i also don't run fish through copper. If I were in the QT everything camp I would just set up a small AIO and keep it cycled to use to QT inverts and coral. I never trusted anyone to QT for me. I don't trust anyone with the life of my tank but myself.

But I have to add I bought some corals from a hobbyist in another city ( 100 miles away) and introduced velvet into my display tank. Met the guy at a mall parking lot.
Ignored all the red flags.
If you truly want completely quarantined corals, you have to do it yourself.

I recommend Tidal! Many of our members buy from them and have had good experiences.

I don't QT anything.

I do dip corals in revive.

To be a bit safer I would focus on aquacultered corals. Unique Corals is a good place, Tidal is good too, and I've also bought from TerraReef and QueenCity Corals.

Sounds good I'll try to get the more hardier corals to do fishless qt. Since my coral qt is pretty much a month old and do not have a good lighting for it

I use the Nicrew NavaReef 65W light for my invert QT tank and it grows corals well.

Tidal has been great. They are local to me so I've bought from them several times.
If your just getting started with coral and want to test the waters so to speak maybe check out @Queen City Corals . They have unheard of $15 wysiwyg frags. I bought several a while back and was not disappointed..

last time i was shopping i was told to be weary of ADS or aqua sd i think. but they have new managment so idk

I have corals on my tank, and most of them are the beginners stuff like mushrooms and leathers. I also have a few monti's that is growing well. I have a few in my coral qt right now. After those are done I'm buying some more. I hate this hobby sometimes cuz of waiting. That is why I want it to be qt'ed and immediately put in. I experience ich b4 so im not risking stuff

I would say the top vendors I would shop from are tidal gardens, aqua vault, or Queen City corals, all have nice looking corals. Also their websites are good too
