I had a green stem Duncan shipped to me and delivered today. The carrier handed me the package and I immediately opened to get my corals out of their bags. When I got one of the corals out it was still attached to the plug and in the little to go cup barrier, however my Duncan had detached from the plug and was rolling around getting scraped and scratched by the cup. He has a pretty large what looks like slimy gash/scrape on one side. I reported it to the company with photos and they said it would be fine. Most of the photos were taken during acclimation and dip but the one under blue light is when I put it in the tank after reattaching it to the plug with reef glue. Any advice to help it live or recover? Thoughts?

it looks like it should be ok by the photos you provided, as far as the gash and helping keeping it alive you could dip with reef dip or lugols iodine, the good thing is duncans are very hardy so its got better chances then if it were to happen to other less hardy lps, good luck I hope it heals

I can't believe people sell single heads of duncan lol. I don't think it looks bad. As long as it opens up I would just observe. Duncans are pretty tough ussually.

PS. It's not that unusual for a piece to come unglued during shipping but anytime I've bought coral online they come in individually bags. I've never had two shipped in one bag.
Took another look and I misunderstood they are bagged singly.

Not yet it’s my first Duncan. I plan on adding more I’m just adding stuff in here and there.
