Ran my first ICP test due to some rtn/stn on a few acros, curious if anything sticks out to anyone as a major issue.

Anyone? I woke up this morning to a decent size colony of strawberry shortcake half stripped and a pc rainbow almost completely gone.
Any help is appreciated I’m at my wits end with this rtn/stn.

When your acros start dying chances are it was something that happened weeeks, if not a few months ago. What did you change? when my po4 was bottomed out it took 3 months for my tank to crash (F U Red Sea ph osphate test showiong me .08)

only huge change was me moving. The tank was up for about 2 years and then I moved and it’s been currently set up for about 4 months.

Yeah, many times it can take weeks for acros. Something happened. Were you testing regularly?

once I settled with the move I began testing alk every other day in order to stabilize it but it ran between 8.2-8.7 with a slight bump for a week at 9.5. Currently I’ve been testing everyday and it’s been locked at 8.5-8.7

im assuming you didn't test no3/po4. Thats the problem. by the time your acros start dying, its way too late and the issue has probably been going on for weeks

Not as often but I checked those maybe every 3-4 days N03 was hanging between 5-8ppm and P04 was between 0.11 - 0.15. I know on the high side but I think the move kicked up a bunch of gunk.

While we are here - might as well list off your parameters & any swings that happened recently (last month or so).
Alk, Calc, Mag, Salinity, temp, P04, N03, etc.
Are you dosing anything?
What's your filtration?
Is it happening quickly (a day or 2 or 3) or slowly (over the period of a week or so)?

Current parameters
SG 1.025
Alk 8.7
Cal 470
Mag 1400
PH 8.0-8.2
Temp 78-79
P04 as per Hanna checker 0.11
N03 around 5ppm

usually onCe I start to see the skeleton of the coral it’s usually A goner in 3-4 days tops.
only notable event was the move I mentioned earlier and the slight all spike (9.5) while I was re tuning the doser.
I dose BRS 2 part with tropic Marin part c for trace elements and red sea ab+
Filtration consists of filter pad into a deltec skimmer to the fuge and back to the tank.

Hmm, what’s your tank size and what lights are you running? Have you checked PAR? Do you perform water changes?

One odd thing about ICP-Analysis.com is that they don’t show your salinity on the report screen. However, if you click the “Share Results” button it will download a jpg image that does show the salinity at the upper right corner. Here’s mine:

Check what it reported for you salinity.
