Options for controlling temperature?

Trying to figure out how to best monitor and control the temperature in my tank (that is currently not set up). Have been doing some reading and have come scrolls controllers such as the Ranco, inkbird or JBJ True Temp. Anyone have any suggestions, or experiences?

I had bad experience with the Inkbird. It wouldn't stay in calibration. Ranco is a better choice.

Any ranco controller in particular? Saw that there was an option for water proof probe?

Does that come with the temp probe, did you waterproof it yourself?

I waterproofed mine back then with some shrink wrap. Did the Inkbird that way too.

Yes it comes with the probe.

How did the shrink wrap hold up? Saw some people coating it heavily in silicone.

I use JBJ's titaniums with the controllers . I also use my apex to turn power to them, on and off. If my apex should fail on The JBJ controllers will shut off and 1 degree F above what the apex would allow.
