There have definitely been some mix ups with this coral. Half the ones in the thread are NOT the blue iris. I just got one in a trade that looks like a cali tort.

Dunno what the deal is.

I had the original (then it died) and it has long smooth coralite structure, it looked nothing like tortusa.

Dave,

I wonder if you have the cali tort? That looks similar to mine anyways, but mine is much smaller than yours, so it could end up being something else.

FINALLY! Thanks y'all! I have what I believe is a definitive ID on this coral. I did a google search on ORA Cali Tort and I think it it what I have......WHEW! That took a while! BTW Chris, I can get you a small frag of the Bellina to throw in our trdae if you want. Thanks for the compliment on it. If you look at it through the glass it is not that impressive. It has to be seen from the top down to look great!

Now back on topic....Where can I get a good TRUE frag of the blue Iris?!LOL

Glad we could help. :)

and +1 on the true blue iris! I think I need to grab one as well.

I'd love to see a full on colony of it - hopefully someone has had one long enough to show us what it looks like grown out.
