Dave3112, I think you have an ORA Blue Voodoo.

Here is my picture of Blue Iris

ORABlueIrisMacro1.jpg

I will have to get a more recent picture for you. Although I dint think it's the blue iris anymore I don't think it is the blue voodoo either. It is a tort of some kind. Probably the ice tort. I will post some more shots tomorrow.

What do you mean by this dave I don't get it? the ice tort is a different ORA coral i used to have it unfortunately not anymore... it was also quite slow growing btw

I have the blue iris and can confirm that it is a slow grower.

Yeah for sure!! I actually believe it's definitely the slowest growing acro in my tank!
Any pics?

When I first got the coral I bought it as the blue iris. I no longer think that is what it is. I think it was mislabeled. I believe what I have is the ice tort.

didn't wanna say it but I don't believe it's ice tort either:squigglemouth:... that has to be joe the coral, roscoes, or maybe something else....

do you have a better pic to see if we can tell better... thing is from what I see in the pic the corallites are completely different from blue iris and ice tort which are both more of a rounded type

It's not Joe the coral or Roscoes. The coralite structure is not "cupped". I am trying to upload some pics right now.

Here are a few bad photos. LOL But they do show the coralite structure and growth form.

This one is pretty out of focus, Sorry but it is a top down and shows a little of the growth pattern. It is top middle.

Very nice shot of the last picture in the last post. Is that an acropora bellina on the right above the sunset montipora?

Yep, I think it is a Joe the Coral frag after seeing the pictures.

Thanks! It had just arrived to me that day, I believe. You can still see the slight shipping marks where the bag and the tips were touching. ORA must have liked me that day.

Yes that is the ORA Bellina. But it is a rainbow monti LOL. You cant see it but the base is blue/purple, the polyps are just really extended. Thanks for the compliments on the photo.

Here is LA's photo of Joe the Coral. I don't see the resemblance. I'm not trying to argue but They look like 2 different corals to me....
