Prep:

1. Have multiple SPS for OSF to snack on.

2. Have multiple coral skeletons to coat with food.

3. Have several live and prepared foods on hand (live brine, blood worms, frozen gut loaded brine, nutramar ova, LRS nano reef frenzy, selcon, nouri polyp, Repashy, and Masstick)

4. Be prepared to feed 4-6 times per day

5. Have an aquarium that you can maintain high water quality with heavy feedings.
Nnnnnope!
I don’t even put that much effort into taking care of myself... that’s awesome you’ve had success with them though! That’s some top shelf husbandry skills!

This is one of those stunning fish that just wasn’t meant to be in the hobby. So sad to see fish stores selling them for $50 knowing they’re doomed.

A captive breeding program for these guys should be at the top of @Biota_Marine list!

I’ve had great luck so far with my trio of osff (about 6 months). They have eaten Masstick since the day I got them (ordered online) and quickly adapted to including Panta Rhei Polyp and Panta Rhei Sponge pellets as well. Now they eat frozen food as well and pretty much anything they can fit in their mouths. I do have a few SPS frags/small colonies that they like to peck at as well.
