I don’t know the cause but I notice during last two days how my redox is going down from 190-200 to 70-80. I have a RSR peninsula 500. No recents important changes, only a new fish and some activated carbon. Any ideas? Thanks

Might be test error, might be something died, might be the fish, might be the activated carbon.

Could be a lot of things, not all of which are undesirable, and that's one reason the utility is limited.

Thanks for your response. It’s an honor hear you... The test is OK. When you say the utility is limited, I can’t understand you. It’s not an important parameter? Thank you

I have your article about redox here. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-12/rhf/feature/index.php

No, it is not, IMO, an important parameter unless you are using ozone and want to be sure it doesn't get too high.

I had an ORP probe and just stopped using it after a while.

Mine has gone from 80-500 with no noticeable change in the tank.
So what does measuring it tell you?
