Anybody using the UV/Violet reef bars? I have 2 x Atlantic V4s gen 2s and a 120 reef blue reef bar along with an all blue bar of unknown make which I am thinking of replacing with another reef blue bar but would the UV/violet be a better choice? Am looking for a bit more extra pop with another light bar but which one of the 2? Please dont tell me to readjust my Atlantics they are just the way I want them. Cheers.

Prob the UV would be an upgrade for more growth and more pop.

I ordered some OR3 light bars before I decided to go with Primes. The UV/Violet bar was VERY violet, to the point where I could feel myself getting a sunburn when I held my arm in front of it, so it will definitely make your corals pop. I'm not sure about more growth compared to the Blue Plus.

My concern then is it might be to.much UV. I have been told it may add a pinkish look to the tank. The blue plus has some UV LEDs in it.

I find it funny the UV bar made you feel like a sunburn since the LEDs are 410 420 and 430 none of which are actual UV they are violet/purple. They aren't even UV A and what causes sunburns is mainly UV B

I recently tried the Orphek UV bar and didn't really notice a difference and didn't think the output was very good. I just got the reefbreeders UV bar this week which is smaller and has a much better spread and output. It's like half the size.

I’m running two reef delight nico bars in UV 1 blue and 1 white. Perfect combo, way better pricing, and par meter had 150 at substrate 250 mid way and 350 at the top of rock work At 60% on blues and uv 15% on white.

actually that is the dimmable version regular is $160 but it seems like a huge jump to the dimmable version, Anyone compare these with the orphek or3, there isnt much info out there on the nicobar but all reviews seem good

yeah my local shop had orpheks on the frag flats prior. Re did one flat in nicos and left the other in the Orpheks and stood back. Color pop is night and day. I switched from 2 kessil A360x’s. Within a day ph jumped fro 8.2 to 8.4 and had to up dosers 30mls cause I couldn’t keep up now I have more polyp extension then ever. i have the dimable 4 36” bars. It was $750 for all 4 and I used hydra mounts that’s just up lights and orange lense filter only Before i re did all the rock and aquascape.

They do look sweet, the problem also comes with mounting them to fixtures as I havent seen much on their website as well as not knowing where to actually order them as no LFS near me has them. I do hope to see more led bars out there then just sbars, reefbrites, and orpheks. Sbar looks like it updated to 2021 new version so need a good test on those ones too. Personally looking for an add on to 6 bulb t5s, so ive been looking for good info as well
