A couple years back I got first place In an American Homebrewers Association regional competition, but didn't end up winning the Nationals. Still was cool to go and be part of the convention.

Congrats on the regional win! That's an accomplishment of its own right there! My neighbor is a home brewer, let's just say I'm glad they moved in! ;p Cheers!

I LOVE to fish. Basically whatever is biting...I'll fish for it. I was a guide in the boundary waters canoe area wilderness for 7 years which leads to my other hobbies of canoe trip camping and hiking trips. I don't do that hardcore anymore due to a few health issues as I've aged. Now I love woodworking and riding my vintage 1979 BMW R100T.

Other than reef keeping, I a 3 other main passions.

I'm a Disney fan, everything about Disney, I travel there every year, love the movies, the world of Disney, the philosophy of the man himself, love the magic and following dreams.

I also felt in love with photography, and with digital cameras, this hobby offers so many possibilities. I have a preference for landscape and animals photography, but I try almost every kind of photo. My 18 months son is not an easy subject, always moving, don't care of the camera if he can't touch it. But it's different with my daughter, since she's a baby she is so photographic, and she poses even if I don't ask her, it seems so natural for her :)

I'm in reef keeping since about 17-18 years, and I never thought I would love koi keeping. I loved small ponds and plan on making one beside my house in 2011, but when I saw a real japanese koi, it quickly became a real passion.
I'm now involved in the koi keeping hobby, I made a presentation last year at the Montreal Botanical Garden last summer, I'm an administrator on a forum based in Quebec province, and last year when I was in florida I had the chance to visit the Central Florida Koi Show with my daughter. As we have no koi show near my region, it was a super experience for me.

I love travelling and photography. I sepecialized in wildlife and architecture photography but just recently also ventured into portrait work :)
My next big hobby is weightlifting. I always was a thick guy with no power at all. So one day I decided, I don't want that tobe anymore.
No I train 5 times a week and lost nearly 60lbs.

Lastly I enjoy Astronomy, I own a 10" Dobson telescope, which I use for stargaizing whenever possible (gotta hate weather in Germany...)

My past hobbies martial arts (kyusho jitsu) and shooting my guns. Now any fishing last couple of years squid fishing those knifes are awesome btw.

I make sugar flowers, cakes, stuff like that.
When I was much younger I worked at a department store where a lot of people could not afford to make their children "expensive looking" cakes for their 15s(something big in the hispanic community) and that really struck me. So now, when anyone from there asks all they have to do is buy the supplies and I make them a cake with all the bells and whistles. Its not something that seems big but for people that don't have much money to spend being able to give their child something like that is huge. I'll usually make them with my mother and grandmother. Also do them for my grandmother's church and some family events. Recently I havent made very many but last year I was making one a month which is a lot when one has to make 200 flowers or so per cake.

I had to jump in and say "Great Job!" I manage a bakery and I make a lot of cakes. The one thing that people remember is that beautiful cake. I actually enjoy making desserts more!
