Looking at mid range to low range. This got high reviews and was thinking of getting it.

That's a great projector. Note that it has not lens shift. Not sure why but it seems like the Optima 143x is more popular these days. I think that the HD27 might be discontinued or something. For a bit more you can upgrade to the BenQ HT2050A.

Do you have any placement limitations? Are you on the AVS fourms too?

No just did some research a while ago and this projector was highly recommended. Was thinking of going with one of fixed frame screens.

You can't go wrong with the HD27. Its been proven. Some people complain about a rainbow effect but its really just nitpicking. The projector is great.

Fixed screen is the way to go.

Have you considered audio solutions yet?

Haven’t done anything on that end yet. Was also wondering can you just plug an Amazon stick into the projector or something like that?

Yes, you could just plug a Fire Stick in and call it a day if thats really what you want. The issue is that audio will be routed to the projectors crappy speakers.

A more ideal set up would be using Audio Video Receiver (AVR). You can plug the Fire Stick into one of the HDMI inputs on the AVR and then plug the projector into the HDMI output. The AVR will route the audio to your external speakers. Investing in your audio set up will take your Home Theater to the next level. You can start with a 3.0 set up, so Left, Center and Right channels. You can add rears and a subwoofer as your budget allows down the road. The LCR speakers are by far the most important component of an HT audio system. You want to match your center speaker with the left and right.

Here are a some audio options that don't break the bank.

Or with different speakers if you want

Hobbies I use to do then grew out of over these last 2 years. Building rc cars, boats, and drones then using them. Gaming and building gaming computers. Home theatre.
Pretty much built the most ultimate things I could then like always lost interest after no more could be done.

Things I’m forced to do at work that ruined the fun factor. Boating, driving fast uncomfortable cars, fishing, hunting, skeet and clays, running the dogs, scuba diving, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, bike riding. Pretty much anything fun.

Pretty much just focus on work and my reef tank setups. Reefing should last me for a while. That is one thing work can’t ruin. Boss hates fish tanks so I’ll never be forced to build him a setup and maintain it.

Got a little interest on making my suburban faster. Really want the henessey 800 kit on it but don’t want to spend $55k. Went with a exhaust and intake package, then I have a small super charger coming for it. Will tune it if I decide to put it on. Kind of losing interest in that now also.

Pics of the last boat I built. Ran it a hand full of times. Been sitting up stairs for 4-6 years.

Last gaming rig I built. Never really used it for gaming. Ive probably turned it on 2 times in the last 3 years.

Last rc truck. Losi 5t built from the ground up. Had no truck to start with. Spent 8 months on it. Broke the engine in. Been sitting in my garage for 2 years.

That was the nicest one I ever built. Growing up we were really poor. I once got a Kmart remote control truck from Santa and loved it. Next was when I was in Korea. Started building kyoshos, nothing fancy. When I got back to the states it was nitro rustlers. Then went with the big boy.

We had on Cox car had 1/4" hose to remote steering. Turn a steering wheel and it pushed air to a bellows connected to front wheels. Had to run behind it.

It takes a special kind of person to keep a reef tank. I have noticed that if you have the inclination to keep reef tanks, you are likely to have other hobbies since it seems to fit the personality of reef keepers.

My other interests include AV (Home Theater), organic vegetable gardening, watch collecting, backpacking, mechanical keyboards and gaming.

What other hobbies do you guys have?
My other hobbies are all types of hunting/fishing/weight lifting/reading books on prolific thoughts.

Marantz sr7013, pair of svs pc 4000's, 6 Klipsch r7 3's (friend is a dealer, got them at cost) w/6 ice block 2001 amps, Seymour AV premier 132"center stage xd ( they had built it for someone and he backed out, got a real good price on it) and a Epson 5040ube, not a high end projector but the picture quality/clarity is pretty darn good, probably because of the screen and thats even comparing it to my samsung q9's. Night and day difference between the 2, but the epson is good enough that it doesn't upset me at all. Actually better than my friends old sony laser, think thats a first or second gen, and he doesn't have a quality screen. Heck, even a silver ticket would be better than what he has, lol. I started with a scratch and dent silver ticket, that was a good screen. Would have kept it if it was audio transparent.
