I have two Miracles tanks: 225 gal (72x24x30) and 360 gal (72x34x34). Both are built with 3/4" Starphire glass and eurobraced. The larger tank has armored seams. As noted above, they are very conservative with their calculations. Tell Derek what you want and he'll work with you on your options and build you a great tank.

My 72x30x24 is 5/8” glass, eurobraced top and bottom, and armour seams.

I’m not sure they could build it any stronger.
I have a tank on order from GlassCages (arriving soon I hope Joe!), 60x22x24 eurobraced with seam guards, Joe is making it out of 3/4" glass because I didn't want a cross brace in the center of the tank.

No mass production tank manufacturer is overbuilding tanks these days

If I wanted an overbuilt tank, I’d call @Joe Glass Cages and have them build me one to my specs
I bought a innovative marine 100ext and I think it’s very well built and I’d consider it mass production. I was surprised with the 1/2 inch glass the seals and the aluminum stand. The 150, 170 and 220 or 250 not sure which size but all those have 3/4inch glass and the sumps they make are really nice to I’m not trying to say there the best or anything so don’t get that thought I’m just saying I was pleasantly surprised and if you’ve ever seen one in person the 100gal or bigger not the lagoons they have smaller sumps I think you might agree they are well built. I do agree they are not cheap but the if I had a tank and was sump shopping I’d want one from them I’ve had trigger and advanced acrylic and IM makes em look like a cheap eshopps. Probably seems I’m biased but definitely not just giving me 2 cents about mass production tank that’s very well built

Well built and overbuilt are two different things. 1/2” glass is not overbuilt

Totally agree it’s not overbuilt I should have replied to another poster that was saying any 170 or 200 I forget said it should be 3/4 inch and euro braced which they are and guy posted pic of a a tank with 1/2inch glass that’s what made me chime in. Bottom line I agree with you not overbuilt just well built.

So you would actually put Glass Cages in the same category as Miracles and Reef Savvy?

I understand your standard glass with black plastic rim aquariums are workhorses. I'm window shopping for options to help with piece of mind. I'd call any leak from a tank 100+ gallons a disaster.

Who is over building tanks now?
Who has over built tanks in the past?
Eshopps Mariner is. Big time. Bottom braces and very thick glass. Oh seam
guards too

Here is my glass cages tank. I was actually pretty surprised at how overbuilt the tank is. For whatever reason i had expected all of the bracing to be plastic. The double layer of glass along the bottom as well as the top is worth it alone. Peace of mind is priceless.

Planet Aquariums is probably your best bet for an "overbuilt" large tank. They use stainless steel support braces top and bottom on larger sizes and their tank bottoms are 1" PVC with channels cut out on the edges to "seat" the glass in so there is more than one edge for the silicone to adhere. They also use inside corner guards and their stands are super heavy duty steel (1.5" x 3").
They built my new tank, which is arriving any day now, 72 x 48 x 30.
The way they build tanks, they will outlast you.
