okay i am going to need to make an overflow box for a 28 gallon tank i am thinking i will use the bean system i believe thats what its called but i was wondering if you guys had a way to cut the teeth in the baffles or an easy way of doing that?

also how thick of acrylic should i use and what weldon do i need to use thanks...

If you have access to a radial arm saw with a dado blade, that would do the trick.

A good dremal and the right bit will do fine. Cut into a tank and made a external over flow this way.

The easiest way to cut the teeth would be to use a router. Take a look at Melev's reef site a lot of great info on how to make a jig for a router.Melev's Reef - Making Teeth
I've seen others use 3/16" or 1/4" thick. I used Weldon #4 for my acrylic top I made and it flows like water.

cool thanks guys. I am going to get started on this m and m i wish i could cut into the tank but sadly it is glass i just need to make the overflow also i had a question do i just use silicone to get it to stick to the tank or what advice do you guys have for attaching it to the back of the aquarium. I really don't want to drill the bottom because i want to have a fail safe system.

+1 on the router, but I've used a dremel too.....Troylee can tell you the best router bits or saw blades to use,and weldon....he's the acrylic master mind here :D

I have always just used my table saw and keep moving the fence over each cut, it really doesn't take as much time as you would think.
