Overflow help

Is my overflow sitting high enough? Im wondering if it needs to actually be all the way up to the rim. Id like to keep the tank pretty full.

also has anyone put in their own overflow before? I just resealed my aquarium and dont want to have to reseal the whole tank again if I decide to shift or move the overflow box. Any information helps!

You don't want the water sitting close to the edge of the tank. I wouldn't go any higher than what you have in the photo

Im thinking maybe half an inch above the overflow slots. So giving myself a good full inch or inch and half of space between water line and rim.
