i just picked up a 90 gallon all-glass tank and im wanting to have it drilled and a overflow box put on and just wondering what box to go with. i seen the dart boxes and i really liked there small footprint in the tank but dont know if i wanna spend the 150 on one when i can get just as good of one probably for less than a bill and have the extra money for a pump..

really just looking for some opinions on boxes... looked for some reviews and ther isnt alot on them...

currently dont have a lot of coral in the 55gal i ahve now but soon plannign to upgrade lighting and get more coral just a slow build right now on the budget.

thanks

alex

i used the glass-holes.com box and not the dart one. i used the 85$ (1200 GPH box)one on my 125 long. it has been great. i dont even hear it. i am using a dart on it but not all the GPH it can put out, i divert the rest to a skimmer, carbon and going to hook up a chiller to it as well. was easy to install, didnt take much and like i said it is quite.

hard to say there, if you can or know someone that can make a box , just order the cutter. you can just get the cutter and use raaw pipe and not have a box. might be a little louder. you could get teh cutter and make the box out of glass, should be straight forward and cheap.

Less noise the better cause as of right now tank is in my bedroom so wanna be able to sleep lol

Ok thank you. Think gonna order the glass holes. So ready to get this going and get rid of my canister filter.

You could try to make a overflow box like the ones I made. Cost me $16 for both. I have no problems with them, they are quiet and skim the tank really well. I use a mag12 for a return pump and they work great. My tank is 55g though.

Bulk reef Supply sells them too. 1 and 1/2 incher for quiet good flow . I didn't want to spend 150 + on a 3 sided box as my tank is drilled on the bottom . I should have drilled a hole in the back and used the BRS box . GRRR . I just slapped on a Eshops HOB and was done with it .
When BlackHawkFan advised me of them it was too late for my build .
