I have a reefer 425 (112 system volume/90 display) that I’m running a ReefMat 500 in. That size is the recommended model from Red Sea. I’m burning through a roll in 2-3 weeks. I’ve tried adjusting my flow rate and advance length without noticeable results. The bigger ReefMat 1200 should fit in my sump. Should I size up? Any issues with going with a larger roller?

I've herd people say that they wish they went with the bigger roller from day one for this exact reason. Don't believe there's any downfalls if you have the room to run it

Make sure you don’t have media in the basket underneath as that restricts flow. Make sure you’re return flow is no more than about 3-5x max. If it’s a new roll, it will go through it pretty fast as it’s the first time your water is getting filtered. Also, any time you stir things up it will go through a part of the roll pretty quick as large debris gets picked up.

The fleece is 200 microns. I hope they come out with a little more porous rolls in the future.
