Hey guys,

Anyone ever have any luck painting your standard Aluminum C Channels you can get at HD or Lowes? Thinking about building a bar between fixtures but I don't like the silver color since the fixtures are black.

Would a spray paint can of Rustoleum work?

Yup. I painted mine and used Rustoleum, but I brushed it on because I couldn't find flat black in a spray.

Having painted Aluminum at work. industrial maintenace for 40 years now. It will hold up but aluminum is so soft it will flake off over time in areas of heavy use.

Thanks! I only need it to hold lights not much use after initial hanging. Hopefully that would be ok.

If it's shiny the paint won't bond well. In that case running sandpaper over it quick will take off the shine and provide better adhesion for the paint.
