Painting Dead Coral for a DIY reef

Anybody out there ever use marine grade fish safe paint (eg krylon fusion brand) to paint dead white coral fossils and decorate their tank with them? im more in the hobby for the fish to me coral just seems like too expensive of an addiction, lol
