Krylon fusion. Wipe down the fitting with acetone to remove the protective coating, lightly sand with 220.

Put on a very light first coat. If any spots blush then hit those again with 220. Keep painting in light coats.

This was actually good timing as this was on my list of things to do the morning.

You can see the difference in the sheen once you wipe down with acetone.

If you do a few light dustings and let dry between coats you can often get away without sanding. Spots that will blush will be spots that still have the protective coating. Take your time with plenty of light coats, and avoid wanting to do it quickly. Fusion dries pretty quickly, so no need to rush. Each coat doesn't need to be completely dry, just tacky and not wet.

First coat.

Hit each coat at different angles. Avoid the temptation to try and cover evenly. Overspray onto a previously hit spot can cause running.

Second coat.

Third coat.

Fourth coat.

Almost there. Last coat will touch up any spots showing through.

Now I'll let that dry for 24 hours then do the same thing with a coat of polyurethane. If you go that route then wait 48 hours before handing. Reassemble the valve and you are ready to go.
